Shawna Lemke has over 20 years of experience contributing to innovation, sustainability and the health of our food system. Occupying a unique position in the science to policy continuum, she manages pre-clinical and clinical phases of drug development, and conducts nutritional claim and food safety evaluations of agricultural products. Prior to consulting she led the Toxicology and Nutrition Center at Monsanto, with oversight of human safety evaluation for crop protection chemicals and crops developed through biotechnology (GMOs). Dr. Lemke has also worked in Public Affairs and Sustainability, promoting partnerships and dialogue to advance the health, environmental impact and social benefits of food systems towards meeting the UN Sustainable Development goals with stakeholders on a global scale.
