Dr. Ragland is currently the Associate Director of the Tennessee STEM Education Center at Middle Tennessee State University and an Associate Professor of Animal Science. Prior to joining MTSU in 2022, Dr. Ragland was employed as the Senior Principal Nutrition Scientist with Mars Petcare North America. While at Mars, Dr. Ragland was involved in new product innovation, regulatory and nutritional compliance, and claims substantiation. He has also spent over ten years in higher education teaching animal science and biology courses. Dr. Ragland earned his B.S. in Animal Science from The University of Tennessee and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Animal Breeding and Genetics from Iowa State University.
