EAS is closely monitoring progress of bi-partisan legislation introduced to the 117th Congress on February 4, 2021, H.R. 841, the Hemp and Hemp-derived CBD Consumer Protection and Market Stabilization Act of 2021.
The bill seeks a federal regulatory framework for hemp and hemp-derived CBD products in an effort to provide marketplace clarity which will ultimately direct development of Good Manufacturing Practices, labeling and claims, submissions of ingredients via submissions such as GRAS or New Dietary Ingredient for the development of new products, and more.
EAS regulatory experts have years of experience assisting the CBD and hemp manufacturing industries, including own label distributors, to understand a confusing mix of state and local requirements. We also proactively assist with development of quality systems mirrored on Good Manufacturing Practices for dietary supplement products. To learn more about our regulatory support and services for this industry, we invite you to download our Cannabis, CBD and Hemp Industry Services sheet.
As HR 841 develops we will be sure to keep you posted.
