Dr. Armen Asatryan is an experienced clinical research and development leader trained as a physician-scientist with double board certifications (internal medicine and preventive medicine) and more than 25 years of combined experience in clinical medicine, public health, and pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry spanning development programs in small molecules, biologics, and gene/cell therapies. Armen’s Clinical Development experience encompasses Phase 1/Translational Medicine, Phase 2/Proof-of-Concept, and Phase 3/regulatory filings, as well as Drug Safety/Pharmacovigilance, and includes programs in small molecules (virology, immunology), biologics (immunology) at Abbott/AbbVie, as well as gene/cell therapies covering both AAV (AveXis) and lentiviral (AVROBIO) modalities in rare diseases (neuromuscular, neuro-degenerative/-developmental, and lysosomal storage disorders). Armen’s experience includes working as a Chief Medical Officer at a biotech start-up, Myrtelle, developing gene therapies for Canavan and other neurodegenerative diseases. Currently, Armen is working as consultant for pharma/biotech industry focusing on Clinical Development.
